I changed my ryco paper filter 3k after switching to e85 and it looked fine. I now change it every service but am looking at installing a cleanable filter next time. As for oil I'm not sure

Nulon 10-40 is E85 suitable I change my ryco fuel filter every 5-10,000 klms and it looks clean.

Have been using Amsoil AMO 10W40 for the past 3-4 years with no issues.

Car gets serviced every 10,000klms and oil has been sent away to be tested a few times now with good results.

Alot of guys recommend what they use but have never had their oil tested.

E85 can dilute the oil and will not last as a car using unleaded.

With regards to fuel filters, I use genuine and change every service but am now looking at a stainless filter setup.

So just a regular fuel filter then and Nulon oils are E85 suitable. Thanks guys.

EDIT: Thanks Rednose. Will be looking at these two oils and compare them. I usually service every 5,000kms anyway.

Another question. I'm dedicated to eflex now. Is it recommended to run a engine lube occasionally such as vp m2 ? I know a lot of people saying run a tank of 98 through it occasionally but I don't have that ability.

M2 is pretty dear.. like $50 for half a Litre dear..

Iv always run premix in all my race Rotaries as protection and to lube the combustion system as I had deleted the factory oil injection system..

used a 1L bottle per 205 drum or 200-1 e85..

iv tested MOST of the recommended premix oils and for e85 Castor oil is a MUST !!!!

The best and easiest to come across is Castrol R30.. its avail at supercheap for about $30/L but is becoming scarce these days..

Klotz oil that's used in RC cars and GoKarts is also a good thing.. $70 for 5L..

Iv used 044s and 1600cc injectors for 1000s of street Ks and 100 or so passes on the strip and never had a failure or blockage and I reckon a lot has to do with premixing..

I honestly dont know why its not more widespread as its benefits are positive all round..

In my opinion I can see absolutely no reason y an occasional premixed tank wont do the car and the fuel system a world of good..

I reckon about 150ml per tank (60L) every 5 or so tanks would be a good cleanout and lube of the system....

im pretty sure im gunna include a weak premix (300-1 or 200ml per tank) in my e85 tune when I have it done shortly as I wont be using it for more than drag racing and see it as a good safeguard and a bit of insurance for the stock block in general...

I've been using the Lucas Brand of ethanol conditioner/stabilizer for nearly 2 years now, been running E85 constantly since, still with stock steel and rubber lines from the tank to the surge. (apart from the line from intank pump to sender bulkhead, as I changed that when I did the pump). No issue at all yet

hey guys what's a rough estimated cost on going to e85 (FG xr6t)? My car is already going in for a tune, injectors and cooler so I assume it will be cheaper doing it at the same time?

Bigger intank/surge setup, cost to get extra tune map. Anywhere between 1-3k

If yours is an fg you might be able to get away with the stock pump.

I used that on my first e85 tune and it only costed tuning time
