I think in NSW you have 3 months before then you need a blue slip and on top pay for rego.Bought in NSW, couldn't register in Vic as too modified for Vic. Had about 2 months of NSW rego when I bought it... that ran out and needed to "go over pits" here in Victoria just to change the rego from NSW to Vic - didn't pass due to the reason mentioned earlier and since then it's a long story... but still not registered.
