I have also been told by one of the highest regarded XR6T tuners/ part manufacturers in the country, that the euro 4 cat is no problem at all on a 300rwkw car. But, the restriction ring must be removed.

100% do the cat.

Youll max the power of what your smaller turbo can make rather than bottle necking it potential power output with the smaller cat

I guess it depends on where he wants to go in the future. Getting a 4-5 inch cat now and never have to worry about exhaust again...

Were blokes, we always want more eventually

Speak to the tuner - there's 20 ways to skin a cat (pun intended) and end up with the horsepower you're after.

Work with the guy doing the work and decide on the way you want to go.

If he likes changing the cat as his method then you either trust the way he does it or you make your own decisions.

If you get him to do the work - he'll do what you tell him to - even if he would rather go a different direction.

Future proof your mods because once you get started it's near impossible to stop

I have the Xforce 4" dump and 3.5" catback, makes a lot more torque than the stock system did(power much the same)but downside needed to port the waste gate to help control the boost.

Gege6, I have not modded my car yet, but it is now booked in for the begining of december. From what I can gather at this point in time, it is best to get the PW stage 2 IC now rather than later. Once the mod bug bites, it can bite hard and you want more power.

For this specific reason I choose to go with the stage 2 inter cooler and not the stepped cooler.

In regards to the XR6T, I will be getting the oem cat + restrictor ring removed and getting the cat replaced with a bolt on venom 5" high flow 100cpi cat.

You never know if the oem cat is the restriction until you replace it. It will cost you time on the dyno to find out.

Get it done right the first time.

;)

Any changes to the flow of the exhaust should require a retune but I am unsure how much of an increase in flow the removal of the restriction ring would cause
