Interesring dishwasher tip ralphy, underwhelmed with our new one as well for reasons already mentioned. On the water though the old one would clean everything sweet as no matter what you used. Only replaced cause the float switch died and it was like 15 years old. Replaced 20 yo fridge, defrost element trips the breaker in like 6 months. New oven grill element litlerly exploded ans open circuited in a similar time frame. All purchased at same time.

LOL Im going through the same at the moment. Every applicance installed when the house was built sysmtemically shit the tin in a short space of time.

 

and light globes...don't get me started on fucking lightglobes.

dam fkn right bloody lights, I had one blow here and there, on the weekend though yeah should probably do something about that, needed 7 of the karnts round the house. Almost stopped at the wholesaler for bulk value...I just paid like 40bucks at bunnings for 10...Still im not a meth head that's too much to spend on light bulbs..

I've been progressivly replacing the globes with LED's as they fail now.

the TV repair place I took my Samsung 50 inch to and has been very helpful in getting me a replacement (for free) told me that they dump 2.5 tonnes of TV's every 3 months !!!!!!

And that's just in Cairns alone, wonder what the figure is Australia wide?

He told me that I would be lucky to get 3 years out of my new one!!!

just did a quick google, Australians buy 3 million TV's per year,  1.5 million TV's dumped per year !!!

had a Samsung plasma 50"... lasted me 5 years with no issue. only replaced to upgrade to a 60"... plus the plasma pumps out a lot of heat, not fun in a Perth summer

ive been doing the same

 

but also replaced the old lights in my place with new frosted led downlights.

we have a 50" samsung plasma in our second living area... imo still is better looking and better picture than some of the new TVs... and its prettier on the wall.... had it well over 5 years... its darn heavy though lol
