Hey ralph , would I splice into one of tge wires on that blue plug, of so which one (red) and red from the stereo plug ? Thanks.

Don't splice in, just crimp flat splice terminals on your stereo wiring and plug it in. 

 

Im pretty hazy but I think the yellow with the black trace is the key switched power, black is obviously earth and the red is constant. Just problem it with a meter to be sure.

couple of ways to do it.

Flat male spade terminals

 

 

Or 4 way male plug from Jay car. RHS plug is the same as the above blue one. LHS is the Jaycar plug

 

 

ON THE BLUE PLUG

Yellow is 12+

Black /yellow is ACC

Black is ground
