Vegetarian focaccia from lunch shop - olives, capsicum, sun dried tomatoes, eggplant, feta cheese and basil pesto, not bad as is

 

But grilled chicken and bacon makes it way better.

Was feeling creative today, so did 5kg of bratwurst.

 

Will smoke some (cure) tomorrow, boil some and leave some for for "beer brats".

Bloody oath, definitely doing them again.

 

Needs to add more fat next time.

 

Boiled ones remind me of the ones we'd get from a German deli in the 70's. Dad would come home, boiling water to heat and thin slice to eat.

 

Smoked ones are awesome in a toasted hot dog roll with the usual toppings

I know it's Christmas day and all, and most people will be tucking into some huge mountains of fantastically prepared food, but thought I would share this for@Rab and@k31th


Can't recall the weight, but a $19 porterhouse from my local butcher and some bugs, surf and turf.

Sorry no shot of "before" bugs, but I bought them green and cooked under griller with garlic butter.

Mrs BCB had 4 bugs sans steak
