It has? Where/how/when? :icon_ford:

That's the point that's got everyone so pissed off, there has been no prior announcement just an email from the distributor saying "oh by the way, last night we disabled the Xcal 1"

Hey tab

I concur, it was seemingly shutoff at the flick of a switch, but I know that some of my previous tuners were under the impression it would one day soon be redundant. This plus the fact 12 to 18 months ago (going by memory) there was some strong, serious talk of no longer supporting Xcal 1; it wasn't just rumors being thrown around.

I have found that the good honest tuners have been straight up with me regarding the Xcal 1, even suggesting I either upgrade or consider it in the future while they become more and more unstable; suggesting one day there had to be a knee-jerk reaction to their ongoing support.

The fact I didn't jump on the Xcal 3 when I was warned shows I'd rather not have upgraded without the need, but again I cannot sit here saying "I never seen it coming" or that I wasn't warned or prepared for this decision down the track.

Cheers-

THIS POST is a link to the discussion that happened last time SCT said they were going to disable the XCAL1.

Do not say it came out of the blue, as the wirting has been on the wall for 18 months. This does not make it right, it just was a forwarning for anyone not to buy the XCAL1 & 2 :icon_ford:

mmm wat a read...I didnt realise this was happening untill today. Obviously I am not pleased at whats happened but for me it's not so bad I will probably just update to a xcal3, I am young and have money to burn, but if the issue is resolved I will be more then happy to keep my xcal1. But I convinced my mate a few months ago to buy a xcal1 for cheap and get his ute custom tuned, which he hasnt got around to doing yet due to money issues, so now I had to call him up and say you know that little black box I convinced you to buy that would release the inner magic of your xr6t...yea...about that...um its good for f**k all now.

And what if you had already bought one? Or, what if you don't read an internet forum? What then? Where was the notice?

I hope this gets sorted,I have waited patiently for nearly 18 months slowly saving for all my mods and only now once I get my tax return I will have enough money to pay for my retune....really looking forward to finally making the wait worthwhile but now this just sets me back that bit more!!! I can afford to upgrade but I hate the fact that I cant invest the extra cost into other go fast bits etc....sucks balls...

Ok, what do all the fordxr6turbo peoples think, a used once CAPA Ford Flasher is worth? You know, the older style with no fancy lcd display.

Thinking, no logging ability or MIL checking so maybe $200 tops?

What do you all think? :buttrock:
