I disagree. Shredded/Wrecked/Burnt out call it what you like lack of traction against the knurling on the rollers = tires stuffed.

they'll heat up and stick extremely quickly if any spinning on the rollers occurs, surely. I know of plenty of people who've taken their car to a dyno with semi-slicks on with no ill effects other than a slightly lower power reading due to flexing of the tyres. Not saying it's a good idea, though, definitely better to use street tyres for a dyno.

You must be correct then and the bloke that owns the dyno is telling porkies just to make the OP grind down his calipers?

Maybe the dyno operator owns shares in Flexovit and is trying to get sales up?

my suggestion to grind the calipers was clearly tongue in cheek.. there was clearly no correlation between my suggestion and his tuner's choice of tyres for his dyno.

The tyres will cold tear. Ralph is right. Its good to understand the operation of the component before commenting.

Ive seen tyres first hand shread and leave debris everywhere due to super soft compound, extremely agree to fook them off before hitting the rollers !!!
