Kids wanted a cubby house, wife wanted a bathroom and Canberra wanted a winter. Other fluids are good. Tried a new mechanic last week who tried to tell me car needed all fluids done as I'd been negligent and not had the car serviced for 40k. He was going by the book in the glove box, not knowing I drop the oil every 5k and keep everything else up to scratch. Lying a-hole said the oil was "rancid". I'd checked it the night before and it was so clean you could hardly work out where it was on the dipstick. 1

I'll be changing the oil in my wife's car tomorrow and doing a gear oil change too. I did have some plugs for her car but I had to borrow one for the go kart. Her car doesn't need them for a while anyway so it's all good. I'm just waiting on some valve springs in the post and then I can see what all the fuss is about with running more boost. 1

I fill out my service book myself when I service my car (every 7500 klm) just write the klms and sign it don't see what the difference is I do the same things that a qualified service agent would do Have done my own servicing since I bought her at 40 klm just ticked over 100klm and had her serviced by the "professionals" they said it was in great mechanical condition

I keep records but don't fill in the book. Partly because at 160k I'm way off schedule anyway. For example I changed a radiator hose, so flushed the coolant off-schedule. 1
