I went for a drive this evening and the car went good in the cool air.

I'm getting keen to get my valve springs installed :ohnoes:

Cheap springs ftw

Washed it. Havnt driven it in months and been lacking motivation to fix the leaky axle seal. Gets surprisingly dirty sitting in the shed c26a6a90ec0e54e1a276f33341196a6c.jpg

I've got a valve spring tool and picked up a compressor this afternoon so I removed the rocker cover this evening to get a little head start.

I haven't had a real good look at the cams but this was the worst bit at a glance. I'd say they are somewhere between mediocre and nearly farked.

It's an ex nsw police car. I have the service history on paper from when it was sold from there and I'm pretty sure the rest is in the book but I'd have to check.

It should have been serviced pretty much without missing a beat.

It would have lived a hard life for a while and now that I have it I service it regularly but it still gets a hard time every now and then.

It's just under 165xxx now.

Those cams are cactus

No oil change for 165ks will do that.

Ironically the cams in my skyline were perfect at 180xxxkm, the cam in my fully hectic vn wasn't in better nick before I rebuilt the motor at over 300xxxkm and even my crappy honda van has over 310xxxkm and you guessed it, the cam isn't that bad.

Must be a ford thing.
