Old ones more than new but FG not excluded either. They are a great value performance car - we all know that. The downside is, some of the dropkicks that should keep their ricers are jumping on the bandwagon. They wind the wick up and break everything of course, then offload the car for next to nothing because they need a 'reliable' daily. This is being repeated over and over at the moment. In my opinion, it forms part of the reason why the used XR6 market is destroyed.

I'd move mine on if I could, but I'd get murdered like everyone else. So you either take a huge hit or keep it. Forgetting the mods I've done, to possibly tear up 20k is the worst deprecation I've experienced with any car I've owned. It just pisses me that I'm kind of trapped.

Yeah - whatever you do - don't take all the good bits off then trade the car in to a wholesaler so you can buy a new car.

Only an douche would do that.

Haha. I've moved on most of the OEM parts like taxi brakes etc. She'd be sold as a complete rig with matching FG tub trailer and 2 QIK 6 plates.

Best one I flipped was a Paj I drowned. Water throughout, including the auto and the sunroof switch.

ECU from a wrecker, cheap stereo and dried out the interior and the roof lining

Traded it at redbook value.

edit: better than redbook value

I hit a wombat in Fiona's car about 6 years ago, was a 6 week old Barina.

I hit this wombat hard. I was doing about 110, as soon as I hit it the car died, the wiring harness was severed, the trans hit the firewall, exhaust manifold studs sheared off, oil filter smashed off. car was fcuked. Cost 8k to fix

Traded it as soon as I picked it up from the panel beaters. The used car evaluator asks me "been in any accidents?"

nope

The guy never asked me: "has the car ever been submerged to the roofline in water?"

I was totally honest.

They never asked if you ever hit a wombat on purpose, so it was a valid response
