What's the cut out from az? Reckon that tradie wasn't happy with you or the builder? Or it was the builder being a c*nt! He's farking dumb if it was him cause now he's fixing it for free.

Its the Laundry cupboards mate.

I'm 100% sure the Tradie wasn't happy with the builder as I've heard many other tradie talking bad about them.

#2 I wouldn't put it pass the builder putting the sh1t down there himself because, YES he is a farkwit and a very bitter man. Yes not the smartest tool either.

Engineers didn't like the previous way the seller had fixed the new braces to the patio, which I'm glad about, given the way the braces wobbled and didn't appear to provide any rigidity at all.

Engineers initially wanted them to seam weld them in, but ended up coming up with alternative brackets instead. MUCH sturdier now, they actually feel solid if you hit them! Plus the engineers have now signed off on the patio being structurally sound and the application for retrospective council approval has been submitted...so now we wait.

Pic of new brackets:

Thanks bud, appreciate the kind words. Checking my bank account the day of settlement will be depressing! But will be nice paying my own mortgage rather than someone else's. Not to mention not having to go through agents and tight owners to get anything fixed or changed!

Started working on the backyard

Luckily my yard is only small, because I have moved a sh*t load of crappy rock filled soil out and then brought 7 cubic meters of crushed rock in to try level it all out

Plan is a couple small garden beds and fake turf the rest

Got my rough layout, gonna brick the borders of the garden beds for a neat look, then I'll have to level and compact the crushed rock

Gives me something to do when I have a free weekend

Before shot - can't really see how much it actually slopes away from the house

After pictures - showing all the crushed rock
