Attic is a great idea imo

It would be a mad area, I've never had an attic but we saw how much space there is in our roof during construction and may do the same thing some day, providing the ducting hasn't filled it.

Not trying to be a kill joy but are you 100% sure the roof can take the extra weight of the thick compressed sheeting you have added plus the weight of what your putting up there?

If it wasn't designed for this purpose there is a chance it wont.. Looks pretty strong from the underside though

It's not in the roof, Garage area.

Yes this area can support the extra load. Either side of the ladder are 2 structural beams and the walls either side are load bearing walls.

The photo below shows all the load bearing beams shown in YELLOW. Plenty of support. Do I pass?

 

 

 

Photo below is the new storage area. As you can see it was a wasted space and prefect for storage.  Above pic shows the width of the space.

Great idea pixy and why not as there's always an abundance of boxes and Christmas sh*t that needs to go somewhere 

 

also best time to do anything is now when the motivation is high because once you move in those ideas hit the back burner real quick as other things hit the priority list fast

this is could even be posted in the TWPYOT.

 

Builder today was onsite which was a surprise so I stopped and see where we're at. 

First thing he tells me that the rear back left of the house and boundary fence has problems. WTF!!

Says with the rain we had the fence has started to fall and once the scaffolding is moved.......... I need to put up a retaining wall ASAP. again WTF!!

 

No dont think so. I told him that he does as it's on the approved council plains. Builder tells me it never was..........F.O. Then what have I go? 

Builder says we dont do retaining walls because they lose money. Ok so what is that beside the garage.

Ok so then why are they put on the plains which are council approved? I then said that false and miss leading information and should not be put on the plains if you're not willing to do the job

I said if it comes down that we have to it will not be getting down now as we have more important things that need doing first.

 

Time to check contract. Contract says no retaining but then why have they done others onsite. I say it's MONEY. He's not making as much he first though on our house.

 

Also have another issue in the pipe line email sent waiting on reply.
