WDIDTMCT: the ring end of the spanner got the bolt out... but I had to grind down the end of the spanner to get the spanner in there.

Now I'm stuck because I need a circlip plier to get the backing plate off of the junk CHRA. The CHRA that I bought for the previous time I did this must have come with a backing plate as I don't have a circlip plier :spoton:
