Gave the chariot a bit of a birthday

New battery
Oil change
Fuel filter
Air filter
Both manifolds bolt tighten
Throttle body clean
Boost solenoid WD40 treatment

And over the next few weeks

I plan on installing the IMS twin bush diff hat
Transmission filter and fluid flush
Brake fluid change

Should be enough for a little while

Very busy weekend!!!

Got my turbo removed due to shot bearings with the help of a Chisel & hammer thanks to this *beep* of a seized bolt on the top rear stud.

Got replacement manifold studs & nuts from local bolt shop for $0.95... I'm a little bit scared lol. Split the rear ported housing and waste gate off to be attached to the second hand turbo from Athol park wreckers when it turns up this week.

Didn't have time or money to go get retuned for billet wheel CHRA or better turbo. & Garret cores had a 1month back order from all suppliers that I called so second hand unit it was.

Finally completely finished the air system with train horn and bagged trailer, all controlled in the cabin.


Then started to pull apart rear passenger wheel assembly as those bearings are sh*te as well.
I've got it to this stage but I'm stumped as to what to do now. Ordered wheel bearing & hub assembly which also turns up this week. Any help guys? Or should I just take the whole axle into the mechanic to do the rest?


Also played with new foam gun & SuperSyrup car wash. Good Aussie product!

To remove the bearing you just put a cut in the bearing retainer with a die grinder then smack it with a chisel to break it. Same goes with the bearing. The bearing carrier will chisel off then you will have to do the same cut with a die grinder to remove the last of the bearing case. Then just press the new stuff on. Don't use sh*tty bearings. Genuine or Timken work well

Also you say you ordered a hub assembly?? I'm assuming this is for the front? If not the Ute's don't have a separate hub it's all one big peice mate

WDIDTMCT: the ring end of the spanner got the bolt out... but I had to grind down the end of the spanner to get the spanner in there.

 

 

Now I'm stuck because I need a circlip plier to get the backing plate off of the junk CHRA. The CHRA that I bought for the previous time I did this must have come with a backing plate as I don't have a circlip plier

This makes me feel really funny inside. Not sure if want

Man that cruise racked up quite a repair bill for my car. I guess it was coming eventually lol.

 

Totally worth it though.
