Born and Bred in the RSA Posted 22/03/12 10:33 PM Posted 22/03/12 10:33 PM A guy walks into a bar with his pet monkey. He orders a drink and while he's drinking, the monkey jumps all aroundthe place. He grabs some olives from the bar and eats them, then grabs some slicedlimes and eats them, then jumps onto the pool table, grabs one of thebilliard balls, sticks it in his mouth, and to everyone's amazement, swallows it whole. The bartender screams at the guy, "Did you see what your monkey justdid?"The guy says "No, what?"The bartender screams "He just ate the cue ball off my pooltable-whole!""Yeah, that doesn't surprise me," replied the guy, "he eats everythingin sight, the cheeky little beggar. Sorry. I'll pay for the cue balland stuff."He finishes his drink, pays his bill, pays for the stuff the monkey ate,and then leaves. Two weeks later he's in the bar again, and has his monkey with him.He orders a drink and the monkey starts running around the bar again. While the man is finishing his drink, the monkey finds a maraschinocherry on the bar.He grabs it, sticks it up his bum, pulls it out, and eats it.Then the monkey finds a peanut, and again sticks it up his bum, pulls itout, and eats it.The bartender is disgusted. "Did you see what your monkey did now?" heasks."No, what?" replies the guy."Well, he stuck a maraschino cherry and a peanut up his bum, pulled themout, and ate them!" said the bartender."Yeah, that doesn't surprise me," replied the guy."He still eats everything in sight, but ever since he had to pass thatcue ball, he measures everything first." 1

I'm John, he's Jim. Two VB thanks."The bartender, feeling slightly awkward, tries to make polite conversation while pouring the beers. "Been on holiday yet, lads?""Off to the States next month," says John. "We go to the States every year, hire a car, and drive for miles, don't we, Jim?"Jim agrees."Ah, The States!" says the bartender. "Wonderful Country ... the climate, the beer, the culture...""Nah, we don't like that American crap," says John. "Pies, peas and VB, that's us, eh, Jim?And we can't stand the Yanks; not civil and polite like us Aussies.""So why keep going to The States?" asks the bartender."It's the only chance Jim gets to drive."

Born and Bred in the RSA Posted 09/04/12 02:25 AM Posted 09/04/12 02:25 AM Working people frequently ask retired people what they do to make their days interesting.Well, for example, the other day, Bev my wife and I went into town and visited a shop. When we came out, there was a cop writing out a parking ticket. We went up to him and I said, 'Come on, man, how about giving a senior citizen a break?'He ignored us and continued writing the ticket.I called him an “a--hole” . He glared at me and started writing another ticket for having worn-out tires. So Bev called him a “s--t head”.He finished the second ticket and put it on the windshield with the first. Then he started writing more tickets. This went on for about 20 minutes. The more we abused him, the more tickets he wrote.Just then our bus arrived, and we got on it and went home !!! 1

Born and Bred in the RSA Posted 11/04/12 12:33 AM Posted 11/04/12 12:33 AM Dear friends:"It is important for men to remember that, as women grow older, it becomes harder for them to maintain the same quality of housekeeping as when they were younger When you notice this, try not to yell at them. Some are oversensitive, and there's nothing worse than an oversensitive woman. My name is Ron. Let me relate how I handled the situation with my wife, Carol. When I retired a few years ago, it became necessary for Carol to get a full-time job, along with her part-time job, both for extra income and for the health benefits that we needed. Shortly after she started working, I noticed she was beginning to show her age. I usually get home from the golf club about the same time she gets home from work Although she knows how hungry I am, she almost always says she has to rest for half an hour or so before she starts dinner. I don't yell at her. Instead, I tell her to take her time and just wake me when she gets dinner on the table. I generally have lunch each day in the Men's Grill at the Golf Club, so eating out is not an option in the evening. I'm ready for some home-cooked grub when I hit that door. She used to do the dishes as soon as we finished eating. But now it's not unusual for them to sit on the table for several hours after dinner.I do what I can by diplomatically reminding her several times each evening that they won't clean themselves. I know she really appreciates this, as it does seem to motivate her to get them done before she goes to bed..Another symptom of aging is complaining, I think. For example, she will say that it is difficult for her to find time to pay the monthly bills during her lunch hour. But, boys, we take 'em for better or worse, so I just smile and offer encouragement. I tell her to stretch it out over two, or even three days. That way, she won't have to rush so much. I also remind her that missing lunch completely now and then wouldn't hurt her any (if you know what I mean). I like to think tact is one of my strong points..When doing simple jobs, she seems to think she needs more rest periods... She had to take a break when she was only half-finished mowing the front lawn. I try not to make a scene. I'm a fair man.. I tell her to fix herself a nice, big, cold glass of freshly squeezed lemonade and just sit for a while. And, as long as she is making one for herself, she may as well make one for me, too. . I know that I probably look like a saint in the way I support Carol. I'm not saying that showing this much patience & consideration is easy. Many men will find it difficult. Some will find it impossible! Nobody knows better than I do how frustrating women get as they get older. However, guys, even if you just use a little more tact and less criticism of your aging wife because of this article, I will consider that writing it waswell worthwhile. After all, we are put on this earth to help each other."BREAKINGNEWS>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>Ron died suddenly on January 31 of a perforated rectum. The police report says he was found with a Calloway extra-long 50-inch Big Bertha Driver II golf club jammed up his rear end, with barely 5 inches of grip showing, and a sledge hammer laying nearby. His wife Carol Anne was arrested and charged with murder.. The all-woman jury took only 10 minutes to find her Not Guilty, accepting her defence that Ron, somehow without looking, accidentally sat down on his golf club..

Born and Bred in the RSA Posted 11/04/12 12:38 AM Posted 11/04/12 12:38 AM Murphy, a furniture dealer from Dublin, decided to expand the line offurniture in his store, so he went to Paris to see what he could find.He visited some manufacturers and selected a line that he thought wouldsell well back home. To celebrate the new acquisition, he decided to visita small bistro and have a glass of wine. As he sat enjoying his wine, henoticed that the small place was quite crowded, and that the other chair at his table was the only vacant seat in the house. Before long, a very beautiful young Parisian girl came to his table; askedhim something in French (which Murphy couldn't understand); so he motioned to the vacant chair and invited her to sit down. He tried to speak to her in English, but she did not speak his language. After a couple of minutes of trying to communicate with her, he took a napkin and drew a picture of a wine glass and showed it to her. She nodded, so he ordered a glass of wine for her. After sitting together at the table for a while, he took another napkin anddrew a picture of a plate with food on it, and she nodded.. They left thebistro and found a quiet cafe that featured a small group playing romanticmusic. They ordered dinner, after which he took another napkin and drew a picture of a couple dancing. She nodded, and they got up to dance. They danced until the cafe closed and the band was packing up.Back at their table, the young lady took a napkin and drew a picture of afour-poster bed. To this day, Murphy has no idea how she figured out he was in the furniture business.
