I hadn't seen that question, if the thread is munted and jams before compressing the gasket to the point it'll seal then the only fixed is to fix the thread. 

 

Otherwise a sly washer on the bolt may give enough compression before it jams. 

 

Either way paper gaskets in an area that sees as much heat as a turbo drain is testicles and a high temp oring arrangement will always be better

Should be able to helicoil easily in that area? Easy fix being a small bolt in aluminium also more room there on a B series k frame then my E series.

yeah, there's a bit of room, if you can maneuver around the hot side pipe

 

unfortunately I don't own a helicoil kit.

Forgot to post what I got done over the weekend:
Rear wheal bearing replaced, thanks heaps to bamk2f6tornado for very accurate instructions for the procedure.
Cold side & core from 2nd hand snail attached to the old modified hot side & wastegate & remounted with new studs.
Air system for horn & bagged trailer all finished & works posh as! [emoji108]

Switches to control it all from the cabin.

It's a bit hard to show the horns cause they're crammed right up under the tray, so these are the best pics I can get.


& finished up the weekend with a fully hectic clean & Polish.

derp... it would cost me less to get the mobile thread guy around to fix it than it would to buy a helicoil kit.

Is the munted thread in the sump? If so bulk room to helicoil it. Plug the drain hole with rag first and don't drill all the way through. The holes are blind from the factory.
